There is definitely a gritty vibe at the dingy Clark and Division Red Line. |

NBC Tower: Chicago's 30 Rock
Art deco at its finest, Chicago's NBC Tower shares architectural similarities with New York City's GE Building at 30 Rockefeller Center. Completed in 1989, the building is home to The Steve Wilkos Show and the Judge Mathis Show. One of its most famous tenants, Jerry Springer, moved to Connecticut in 2009. |

Lindbergh Beacon
Pictured is the Lindbergh Beacon that sits a top the Palmolive Building located on the north end of the Magnificent Mile. For decades itserved as a navigation aid for pilots to guide them safely to Midway Airport. But in 1981 the rotating beacon seized functional operation as taller skyscrapers surrounded the neighborhood. Residents complained the light was shining through their windows. In 2000 when the Palmolive Building was renovated into condominiums the beacon was modified to rotate back and forth across Lake Michigan. |

Noble Horse
This Noble Horse seemed appalled that I was taking his photograph. He may have been confusing my camera for something else. |

Michigan Avenue Bridge
Looking south down the east side of the Michigan Avenue Bridge, this is a fairly uncrowded scene that most residents of Chicago would prefer to see. There was a funny article written by Barbara Brotman of the Chicago Tribune that was published a few months ago, "Rules for enjoying the Michigan Avenue Bridge. Or else." These are rules I wish everyone would live by, but I think I've broken a few myself. |

Fisher Building
Located at 343 S Dearborn, the 20-story neo-Gothic Fisher Building is a Chicago Landmark. Floors 1 and 2 are designated for commercial use and 3 through 20 are apartments. If you look closely, especially from the L platform at Library, State and Van Buren, you will see terra-cotta carvings of several different aquatic and mystical figures. |

Being Born
Have you ever wondered what the 'C' Sculpture off the Ohio St exit of the Kennedy Expressway is? Situated on the triangle at Ohio, Ontario, and Orleans, "Being Born" was created by Italian sculptor Virginio Ferrari in 1983. In 1996, it was moved to it's current location from State and Washington. The idea was to create an artwork display that celebrated both art and technology. The 2 stainless steel circular pieces represent skill and precision of the tool and die industry. In the summer of 2008 the sculpture was restored for it's 25th anniversary. Many consider this design as the gateway into the city. |
