Chicago Views I: North LaSalle

Unfortunately I haven't had much time to get out with my camera lately.  I'm going to begin posting a series of images of different areas of the downtown skyline taken throughout 2011.  I've been searching through my database trying to find views of Chicago that aren't as well-known to those who don't live here.  We are expecting our first serious snow accumulation in the city beginning early this morning.  Hopefully I'll be able to get out there and shoot some wintery images in the next couple of days.

Naked Bike Ride with Traffic Jam, LaSalle and Division

The World Naked Bike Ride (and Skate) - "Celebrating freedom from oil, and the beauty of people" - took off from a location in the West Loop and made its tour around the city last night.  After hearing the commotion I ran to my window and took a few images as the bikers came pouring through my neighborhood.  The riders were densely packed at the front and began to disperse out toward the back as seen in this photo.  From what I was able to see, riding naked was optional.

Eerie Scene

For Friday the 13th I thought I would post an eerie scene at dusk from my Cabrini collection.  This was taken the night before demolition began on 1230 N Burling the final Cabrini Green high-rise.  You can see a couple of the lights shining from the LED Art Installation on the right half of the building.
